Essar Steel Algoma Inc. was fined $300,000 for a violation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) that caused a worker’s death. The company was fined another $25,000 for a different OHSA violation after a worker was injured in a separate incident.

The Department of Government Services announced today that Concord Paving Limited has been charged with violations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations in relation to a fatal accident that occurred in May 2009. The charges are the result of an investigation by the Occupational Health and Safety Branch.
