Our Team

Angela Beal – President

Angela is, happily, retired from the day to day running of the business, leaving it in the capable hands of the team. However, she still is active on the Board of Directors and enjoys offering some assistance when needed to the staff.

Why health and safety – after working several years in positions ranging from payroll administrator to human resource and health & safety coordinator, Angela finally landed with HRS Group Inc., starting in a HR position. She soon became involved in the health and safety area of the business and became a trainer. After a few years the owners of the business decided to sell, which gave Angela the opportunity to become a business owner. All her job experiences culminated to assist her in running the business.

Angela received her Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation in 2007.

Angela enjoys spending time with family and friends and making some beautiful quilts in her sewing room. She and her husband Dan love to travel to interesting destinations such as England, Egypt, and Italy.

Daniel Beal – Chief Executive Officer / Health & Safety Trainer / Consultant

HRS Group has been Dan’s retirement plan for the last 15 years, after leaving the automotive industry with over 30 years experience, specializing in quality assurance. If you know Dan, you know about his blog – his prized possession, which is a great resource for referencing examples of workplace incidents and accidents, while emphasizing the consequences of not being safe at work!

Since joining HRS Group, Dan has achieved his advanced level CHSEP certificate and has become a walking table of contents for the Occupational Health & Safety Act, also known as the Green Book.

Why health and safety – Simply put,Dan is passionate about helping others, and doing what he does at HRS Group has given him another outlet to achieve this.

In his spare time, Dan loves to travel with his wife Angela, add to his coin collection, golf, play bridge, and while he may not do it as much as he used to, umpire.

Jay Hennessy – General Manager & Safety Trainer / Consultant

Jay Hennessy joined HRS Group as a trainer/consultant in 2020 and was quickly promoted to General Manager in 2021. Jay has his sights set on growing the business to new levels, while maintaining what their clients have come to expect – honesty, professionalism, and accommodation.

Jay comes to HRS Group with 15 years of experience in health & safety and a passion to help others – highlighted by his 10 years of service as a volunteer firefighter and instructor (retired). Apart from being a volunteer firefighter, Jay spent 5 years in the grocery business and 10 years in manufacturing, while serving as an active member on the respective Joint Health & Safety Committee.

Why health and safety – Jay has been involved in two serious workplace accidents in the past and they were a direct result of his employers not taking health & safety seriously. These accidents could have been prevented with adequate hazard controls and proper training. He does not want the same thing to happen to other workers – every worker deserves to return home to their loved ones.

In his spare time, Jay enjoys working out, playing video games, and taking day trips with his family. Most summers you can find Jay, his wife, and two kids in Nova Scotia, enjoying the fresh seafood and time with friends & family.

Deborah Tozer – Office Manager & Training Scheduler

Deborah Tozer joined HRS Group in 2015, with 33 years experience working in an office environment and high academic achievements during her post secondary schooling. With an invaluable set of skills, Deborah worked herself into an office manager role, which has greatly contributed to HRS Group’s success and growth over the past few years.

If you’ve taken training with HRS Group, there is a 99.9% chance that you have spoken to Deborah – as the main point of contact, as she is responsible for advising and coordinating training requirements for our clients. This includes the initial inquiry to overseeing the final production of training certifications, and everything in between.

Why health and safety – Deborah knows a safe work environment and a worker’s health and safety are of utmost importance and is motivated by her interaction with clients, listening to any safety concerns or experiences they want to share and helping them move forward with their safety needs.

In Deborah’s spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her three grandchildren.

Brooks Paget – HR Coordinator & Accounts Clerk

You may find Brooks at the other end of a phone call and for you, this is good. Brooks is well versed and well-spoken when it comes to our clients’ needs and will not hesitate to go above and beyond to ensure our clients are happy.

Her background ranges from working in a kitchen, a lawyer’s office, a lifeguard, to a denture clinic. She has always had an interest in business and people, but never thought she would end up in payroll or the health and safety industry – but HRS Group is glad she did!

Why health and safety
– Brooks believes in the quest for knowledge and advocating for those who do not have a voice, which is evident through her commitment to not only running the accounts department but also looking after Qualitative Respirator Fit Testing for HRS Group Inc. That’s right, Brooks is the one that sprays that lovely bitter solution into the hood! Brooks also has a background in human resources, which also plays an important role in health and safety, through policy & procedure development.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Although she does not get to often, one of her favourite past times is painting.

Kelly J Roy – Health & Safety Trainer

This is what retirement looks like for Kelly.

Why health and safety
– Kelly saw many accidents in the auto industry and along with having a few accidents of her own, she realized it’s time to step up and learn all she can to help others stop accidents from happening and teach members how to be safe. First, she became a classroom instructor to help others understand world issues and then on to health & safety instructing, in the auto industry. This experience has been an asset since joining HRS Group in early 2021, where Kelly has cemented herself as one of HRS Group’s lead instructors.

In her spare time, Kelly enjoys helping dog rescue teams and creating jarred gifts such as bath salts, soups, and cookies. Spending time with her family is where her heart is, with 2 growing grandsons and 2 beautiful granddaughters, Kelly tries to spend as much time as she can in London Ontario.

Brenda Daly – Office Assistant

Before joining HRS Group Inc., Brenda spent 24 years as a hardworking Administrative Assistant. This experience has lent her skills well to this business. Brenda’s experience with organization, and overall best interest in the client is a great asset.

Why health and safety – Knowing that she can be a part of something bigger by helping others has a major impact on what motivates her. Before working in this field, she did not realize the importance of occupational health and safety training. Working for HRS Group gives Brenda a role to fill, which ultimately leads to keeping people safe and this is very fulfilling for her.

In her spare time, Brenda enjoys hanging out with friends and family, as well as her cat, Marsha. You may also find Brenda somewhere cozy with a book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other.
