Canada’s national police force has reached a settlement in two class-action lawsuits regarding accusations of sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination among its members by offering a compensation package totalling a $1oo million for several hundred women who have served with the force over the past 42 years.

A worker was critically injured while moving a heavy metal beam at the Facility. Misteelco Inc. failed, as an employer, to ensure the beam was handled without endangering the safety of a worker as prescribed by section 45(b) of the Regulation for Industrial Establishments and contrary to section 25(1)(c) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

A worker suffered critical injuries when they were struck by a forklift operated by another worker in the Geerlinks Home Hardware Building Centre lumber yard. Geerlinks failed to provide information, instruction and/or supervision to workers regarding the operation of forklifts.
