Two workers were injured when a ledge of rock fell on them. The workers were employed by CGC Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario, a company that markets, manufactures and distributes gypsum products, including interior finishing materials and building materials. The company’s underground mine in Hagersville, Ontario.

A worker, employed by James Dick Construction Limited of Caledon, Ontario, fell into a quarry when a catwalk gave way. The catwalk had not been maintained in a safe condition.

A fire broke out in an underground nickel mine in Thompson, Manitoba on April 5, 2015, when a piece of equipment burst into flames after being struck by a large chunk of falling debris. All 39 of the miners escaped unharmed.
