The lack of training or just the lack of understanding of a confined space and its associated hazards was at the heart of an accident at a Quebec campsite. This happens a few years ago, (August 2004, to be exact) and an employee of Camping Lac Du Repos, located in the municipality of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, was trying to unclog the outlet pipe of the campground’s septic system when the deadly events were set in motion.

An Oxymoron is: A figure of speech that combines two apparently contradictory terms. I have explained in the past, that Alberta has one of the poorest safety records in Canada. Below is another recent issue that has to be dealt with. I would assume, as has happened in other less recent events, any and all parties will be found innocent due to lack of evidence. (or the lack of effort)

A landscaper collapsed and died at the end of the day of mowing, weeding and using a backpack blower. Emergency medical assistance was called, but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. His body temperature was 107 degrees F or 42 degrees C.
Workers never anticipate the worst case scenario when they pull a prank or set somebody up for a “harmless” joke. They just think of the laughs it will provide. The consequences, however, can quickly lead to tragedy, and then it is too late to turn back the clock.
