A worker, employed by AM Wholesale Meats Ltd. of Mississauga, Ontario, a poultry processing and distribution facility, was injured by a falling pallet while operating a pallet truck in the shipping and receiving area. AM Wholesale Meats Ltd. failed to ensure that the measures and procedures prescribed by section 45(b)(ii) of Ontario Regulation 851 were carried out at the workplace, contrary to sections 25(1)(c) and 66(1) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Three companies have been fined $1.2 million over a workplace death in northern Alberta.

Suncor Energy Services Inc., Joy Global Canada Ltd., and NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Services Ltd. each pleaded guilty to a charge under Alberta’s occupational health and safety rules.

Blog Post #1719 – Toronto Contractor Fined $80,000 After Workplace Fatality

 A worker, employed by KAS Aluminum & Copper Ltd. of Toronto, Ontario, a contractor that installs windows, eavestroughs and siding, was fatally injured falling from a roof. The company failed to ensure the worker was using fall protection when exposed to the hazard of falling more than three metres, contrary to section 26.1(2) of Ontario Regulation 213/91 as required by section 25(1)(c) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
