Bombardier Transportation Canada Inc., a global corporation that manufactures rail transportation systems, has been convicted in two separate cases involving injuries to workers and fined a combined total of $280,000. Both incidents took place at its production facility located at 1001 Montreal Street in Thunder Bay.

Unitec Inc. and 629728 Ontario Limited, in a partnership carrying on business as Entropex Limited, a Sarnia plastics company, were fined $410,000 total for violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act after a worker was injured.

Waterloo Textiles Ltd., a yarn manufacturer in Cambridge, Ontario, has been fined $75,000 after pleading guilty to failing to ensure a machine was equipped with a guard or other device to prevent access to moving parts.
