A worker, employed by James Dick Construction Limited of Caledon, Ontario, fell into a quarry when a catwalk gave way. The catwalk had not been maintained in a safe condition.

A fire broke out in an underground nickel mine in Thompson, Manitoba on April 5, 2015, when a piece of equipment burst into flames after being struck by a large chunk of falling debris. All 39 of the miners escaped unharmed.

A worker, employed by SMC (Canada) Ltd., a company that extracts and recovers precious metals in mining mills near Cobalt, Ontario, suffered a critical injury after becoming entangled in machinery. The machinery should have had a guard to prevent workers from coming into contact with moving parts.
