Scottlynn Sweet Pac Growers in Vittoria, Ontario, plead guilty to health and safety violations after one of its workers contracted Covid-19 and died. It was fined $125,000 plus a 25% victim fine surcharge. The maximum fine the court could have imposed was $1.5 million.

An investigation by OH&S officials from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has led to charges against the Eastern Regional Health Authority or Eastern Health, one of its supervisors and two employees.

A worker performing work for ThermoEnergy Structures Inc. suffered a fatality resulting from the use of a bucket truck. ThermoEnergy Structures Inc. failed, as a constructor, to ensure that the measures and procedures prescribed by O. Reg. 213/91, made under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, were carried out at the project.
